YOUNG ARTS
|
Young Arts is a core activity of
NADFAS. Started in 1973, it provides exciting opportunities for
children and young people to expand their horizons through their involvement in
creative arts activities. NADFAS aims to inspire young people
with a lasting enthusiasm for the arts and an awareness of our arts heritage
and its conservation. NADFAS's vision is equality of opportunity for all to
learn through participation in the arts. |

Englemere
DFAS subscribes fully to this vision and has sponsored a number of arts
workshops in local schools. We have been lucky enough to be able
to work with Sadie James, a talented young artist who has worked wonders in
bringing out the latent talents of the children. The picture
opposite is from a workshop at Holy Trinity School, Sunningdale. |

In
spring 2009, Englemere DFAS joined the Bracknell Pyramid Scheme, run by East
Berkshire Mind, sponsoring workshops in five local schools for a total of 50 children
with artist Kerry Lemon, a local illustrator with a Queen Elizabeth
scholarship. The children created sun
flowers as shown in the photos opposite and below. The
Pyramid Clubs offer a safe space for children to play, learn new skills, take
part in activities and develop positive relationships. They are run by Club
leaders and volunteers who are trained to develop children’s confidence and
enthusiasm. |
